Gurgaon, March 28 (IANS) A 58-year-old businessman was Monday found murdered in his DLF phase IV house here, police said.

“He was strangulated with a wire,” said a senior police officer.

The victim was identified as Mukesh Sethi, who was living alone in the house. Police suspect that Sethi had been murdered two days ago as the body had started decomposing.

The dead body was found in the basement and there were blood stains on the stairs leading to it, indicating Sethi was dragged there after being killed.

The body was discovered after his servant came back from leave and got no response after ringing the bell. He called up Sethi’s mobile and found it switched off, and there was no response when he dialled the landline number. The servant then informed Sethi’s elder brother, who lived nearby, and they broke into the house and found the body.

“Sethi had hired three people to finish some home maintenance work. We are looking for them,” the officer added. A case of murder has been registered at the Sector 29 police station.
