The 25-year-old Russian woman complained to the Calangute police station that Prakash Chand, a Bhopal-based businessman, had molested her while she was bathing in the sea.
“She has complained that the accused tried to touch her private parts and cause her injury, while he was bathing alongside her,” a police official attached to the Calangute police station said.
The official said that after the Russian started shouting for help, the local residents came to her rescue and beat up Chand.
The businessman has been hospitalised with minor injuries.
