‘Burgle-n-burn’ gang strikes in Delhi again
April 20th, 2011 - 9:18 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 20 (IANS) A gang of burglars who set houses on fire after committing robbery, Wednesday struck again targeting the home of an MP’s aide in Delhi’s Mayur Vihar Phase-1, police said.
“Mohan Kumar, along with his wife Rajni Mohan and daughter, had gone to Kerala for a 15-day holiday when the incident took place,” said a police officer.
Kumar is a personal assistant to B.K. Hariprasad, a Rajya Sabha member and a Congress general secretary.
A neighbour informed the police about the robbery at around 3.15 a.m.
Despite the kingpin of ‘burgle and burn’ gang being behind bars, instances of burglary and then arson have continued. The gang normally targets locked houses of government employees.
