Burglars loot 20 kg gold from jewellery shop
June 23rd, 2011 - 1:07 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 22 (IANS) Burglars looted gold items weighing 20 kg and Rs.22 lakh cash from a jewellery showroom in west Delhi Wednesday, police said.
The incident took place at Naresh Jewellers in Syndicate Market near Palam around 2.30 p.m. when the showroom was closed.
“The owner, Naresh, who lives quite near the market informed us and filed a complaint at around 4.30 p.m., two hours after the incident,” said a senior officer.
“The burglars opened the lock using a key. This is generating doubts whether it was really a case of burglary,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K. Ojha.
