Building collapses in Chhattisgarh city, none hurt
December 14th, 2010 - 11:48 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Dec 14 (IANS) A three-storey commercial building collapsed Tuesday in Chhattisgarh’s industrial city of Bhilai, police said, adding that no one was injured.The building in the heart of Bhilai, some 30 km from here, caved in but a few shopkeepers who were inside managed to escape, D.S. Parihar, the police officer investigating the case, told reporters.
He said that a first information report (FIR) against several people was lodged as a preliminary inquiry showed that the building collapsed because several big ditches had been dug up around it for constructing shops.
