BSP legislator’s staff beat up bus driver

Bahujan Samaj PartyGreater Noida, Feb 22 (IANS) In an incident of road rage Sunday, the staff of a Bahujan Samaj Party legislator allegedly thrashed the driver of a private bus when he did not let the politician’s motorcade pass quickly, the police said.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon in Luxur locality under Rabupura police station in Greater Noida.

Police officials, refusing to be named, said that Jahangir was driving his bus on Bulandshahr-Rabupura route when the motorcade of legislator Ho Ram went along the same road. A marriage party was travelling on the bus.

When Jahangir did not immediately give way to the motorcade on a single lane stretch, the driver of the legislator’s SUV overtook the bus and halted his vehicle in front of the bus, forcing Jahangir to stop. Ho Ram’s driver and gunman then thrashed Jahangir, police sources said.

The police reached the spot after being informed about the incident. No complaint has been filed yet, police sources added.
