BSP councillor shot at in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, May 31 (IANS) A municipal councillor of Uttar Pradesh’s ruling Bahujan Samaj Party was critically injured after he was shot by three unidentified assailants Tuesday, police said.
Brahm Pal Jatav, councillor from Morta, was attacked by three people in Ambedkar Park in his own ward. The assailants shot him thrice and fled the spot. Jatav was taken to the local Yashoda Hospital, where his condition was said to be critical.
As he was been taken to the hospital, Jatav told police and media persons that a cabinet minister was behind the attack on him.
A case is yet to be registered, said the Superintendent of Police (Rural) Arun Kumar.
