BSNL official arrested for graft
July 18th, 2010 - 9:18 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 18 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Sunday arrested a senior officer of state-run telephone service Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) in Rajasthan for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.40,000 from a subscriber for settling his bills, an official said.
Acting on the complaint, a CBI team laid a trap and caught General Manager Fateh Singh and another person, Radhay Shyam, “for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.40,000 from a complainant for clearing his pending bills”, CBI spokesperson R.K. Gaur said.
The accused were brought to a court in Jaipur Sunday and would remain in CBI custody till July 23, Gaur said.
