Kolkata, March 22 (IANS) A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper hacked and seriously injured a commandant of his platoon in Malda district of West Bengal Saturday. Constable R.K Saini attacked the commandant of the unit, Suresh Yadav, injuring him critically at around 2 a.m. in the Malda BSF camp.

Yadav received serious injuries in his head and was admitted to the Malda district hospital.

“The constable attacked the commandant for taking some disciplinary action against him a few days ago. We are now enquiring into the matter and we have also taken the constable into our custody,” BSF Inspector General (South Bengal) C.V. Murlidhar told IANS.

He said reports that the commandant had not sanctioned leave to the constable for the Holi festival were baseless.

It was just a fake excuse that he gave after being intercepted, he said.
