BSF guns down Pakistani intruder in Punjab
May 1st, 2011 - 7:46 pm ICT by IANSTarn Taran (Punjab), May 1 (IANS) The Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Pakistani trying to sneak into India, an official said here Sunday.
“Two Pakistani intruders were trying to sneak into the India territory from near the Pakistan border at gate number 131, Khalra sector Saturday night. We challenged them and told them to surrender but they did not stop,” said a BSF official.
“Our personnel started firing, resulting in the death of one intruder while the other ran back into Pakistani side. The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained so far and we have increased the patrolling in this area,” he added.
The BSF guards the nearly 553-km fenced international border in Punjab. Tarn Taran is around 250 km from state capital Chandigarh.
