October 11th, 2011 - 2:27 pm ICT by IANSBrasilia, Oct 11 (IANS) Brazil announced a series of measures here Monday to protect its domestic market in the face of the global economic crisis and promote its products abroad.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Antonio Patriota said government officials would meet business leaders to discuss the barriers imposed by some countries on the Brazilian products.
Patriota made the announcement during a seminar in the foreign ministry to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the General Coordination of Disputes (CGC), which is responsible for the lawsuits brought before the World Trade Organization (WTO).
“We need to continue exploring the trade opportunities we identify and efficiently use the mechanisms to guarantee our rights to be protected,” Xinhua quoted him as saying.
The government will pay much attention to the economic and trade promotion areas in the agri-business and manufacture sectors to sort out their problems and seek solutions, he added.
