Brahma Kumaris to celebrate platinum jubilee

Pratibha Patil Mumbai, Dec 6 (IANS) Prayers and humanitarian service involving spiritual leaders, industrialists, celebrities and commoners are slated for the nine-day platinum jubilee celebrations of spiritual organisation Brahma Kumaris starting here Dec 17, an official said Tuesday.

“The theme of the celebrations would be ‘One God, One World, One Family’ which will be inaugurated by Rajyogini Dadi Ratan Mohini, joint chief of Brahma Kumaris,” said Rajyogini B.K. Santoshdidi, zonal head for Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

The national celebrations of the organisation - said to have 9,000 branches in 137 countries - were inaugurated by President Pratibha Patil in Gurgaon Sep 16 this year.

“We may be born to different parents, but we are all children of one universal family and God is our universal creator. By adopting the principles of Raj Yoga and an enlightened lifestyle, we can make our lives happy and peaceful,” Santosh Didi told IANS.

By understanding the three divine secrets of Self, God and Matter, we can understand the principles of this unique “world drama” which will add depth and quality in our lives, which the Brahma Kumaris have striven to do for the past 75 years, she said.

The Brahma Kumaris have also set up hospitals which practice the use of medicine along with meditation, including in Mumbai and Mt. Abu in Rajasthan.

It also runs education programs in schools around the country, operates stress management courses with leading companies around the world and collaborates with the UN on many projects.
