BPO employee robbed in Noida
October 9th, 2010 - 10:38 pm ICT by IANSNoida, Oct 9 (IANS) A 25-year-old BPO employee was beaten up and robbed by unidentified assailants in the Sector-58 area of Noida, police said Saturday.
Gyaneshwar Singh, an employee of Tech Mahindra Call Centre here was waiting at a bus stop while returning from duty Friday night, when the incident took place, police said.
Gyaneshwar’s brother-in-law Harendra Rao said: “He was standing at the bus stop when a private taxi came and the driver offered lift. He entered the cab. However, the occupants of the car overpowered him and took out his ATM cards forcibly. They also asked for the code number. Initially he refused but later gave them the code.”
“The assailants withdrew Rs.20,000 by using the ATM cards and also beat him up. Later, Gyaneshwar was dropped at a deserted spot in Sector 71,” Harendra added.
Gyaneswar was rushed to Satya Hospital with serious injuries.
A case of robbery was registered.
