Boy dies imitating TV suicide scene
February 9th, 2012 - 9:32 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 9 (IANS) A 12-year-old boy died here when he reportedly tried to imitate a suicide scene he had seen on a television show, police said Thursday.
The Class 5 student of a Sarvodaya school, Suhail, was founding hanging from a ceiling fan at his Jafrabad home in east Delhi Tuesday. His mother made the shocking discovery.
The boy was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where he was declared dead. He was only child of his parents.
“A few days ago Suhail had watched a suicide scene on TV. Curious, he had asked his mother questions about it.
“She scolded him. It is possible that while imitating the act of suicide, he accidentally hung himself,” said a police officer quoting the distraught mother Isha.
