Boy dies as crackers fall on ground, explode
November 4th, 2010 - 8:20 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Nov 4 (IANS) In a freak accident, a minor boy in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district was killed Thursday after the crackers he was carrying fell to the ground and exploded, police said.
Fifteen-year-old Angad Preet Singh met his tragic end on Diwali eve in Lajpat Nagar area, some 80 km from Lucknow.
“The boy was on his bicycle when the crackers he was carrying fell down and exploded due to friction with the ground. The boy died on the spot,” police inspector A.K. Kannaujia told reporters in Kanpur.
Police are inquiring if the victim’s crackers were manufactured illegally.
