Boy beaten to death over cricket match dispute

Patna, Sep 17 (IANS) A 16-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death in a Bihar village during a row over a cricket match, police said Wednesday.Anil Kumar, a Class 10 student, had a heated exchange of words during a cricket match between Babuganj English village and Kharagpur village, in Buxar district, about 125 km, from here Sunday.

The deceased’s father Durgesh Kumar Singh alleged that his son was “beaten to death” by members of opposite team from Kharagpur.

Police officer S.S. Modi said a case had been lodged against five people of Kharagpur village. All the five are absonding.
