Bomb scare in Delhi areas, Safdarjung Hospital evacuated
September 8th, 2009 - 1:28 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) Panic spread in the national capital Tuesday with bomb scares being reported from four crowded places — the New Delhi Railway Station, the Safdarjung Hospital as well as the high rise Palika Kendra and Vikas Minar.
The sprawling Safdarjung Hospital in south Delhi was being evacuated.
Intensive searches were also underway at the New Delhi Railway Station, Palika Kendra in Connaught Place and at Vikas Minar near ITO.
“Police got a call in the morning and all precautions were taken. The building was evacuated,” NDMC spokesperson Anand Tiwari told IANS.
Police said the call at Safdarjung Hospital was received at 9.30 a.m. and the bomb disposal squad was combing the complex, a police official said.
