Bomb hoax in Chandigarh
May 8th, 2010 - 1:26 am ICT by IANSChandigarh, May 7 (IANS) There was panic outside a popular park in the city Friday after people noticed a car, parked outside, with a message warning of a bomb blast written on the door.
According to police, several people informed the police control room about the car parked at the Leisure Valley, frequented by morning and evening walkers and visited by tourists, here in Sector 10.
A police official said a police team reached the spot and took it to the Sector 3 police station.
A bomb blast warning was written with black chalk on the car door but no explosives were found inside, the official said.
It was later found that the car belonged to a woman doctor, who told police that she had left her car in the parking lot and had gone for a walk when some mischievous elements had written the “warning” on the vehicle.
Police have started an investigation and recorded the statements of various eye-witnesses.
