New Delhi, August 1 (IANS) A letter threatening bomb blasts in the Patiala House court complex here turned out to be a hoax, the police said. The letter was received around 12.30 p.m. by the court staff of Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjay Bansal.

“The security was beefed up in and around the court complex after the letter was received,” a police official said.

“The letter stated that serial blasts would rock the district courts in the afternoon,” sources said.

“The letter has been handed over to Special Cell of the Delhi Police to verify its authenticity. A check was also carried out in the courts but nothing suspicious was found,” said assistant commissioner of police Rajan Bhagat.
