Body of school girl found stuffed in sack

Kozhikode, June 23 (IANS) The body of a nine-year-old girl who went missing from her school during lunch break Monday was found on the terrace of a house nearby. The body was found stuffed in a sack and kept among firewood. The police arrested the house owner Mayan, 45.

The girl, Shahana, was a student of Cherandathur Mappila Lower Primary School, near Payyoli, around 50 km from here.

According to police, she went missing around lunch time. When school teachers and people residing nearby searched for the missing child, they found her sandals outside Mayan’s house. Following this people searched the house and found the body.

Tension prevailed in the area as a mob tried to attack Mayan. Police had to use force to disperse the crowd. The mob later set fire to the house.
