Body of CPI-M activist found
November 21st, 2010 - 2:04 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Nov 21 (IANS) The body of a 55-year-old Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) activist, suspected to have been killed by Maoists, was found in West Midnapore district of West Bengal Sunday.
“Ganesh (Aich) was missing since Saturday night. We believe he was killed by Maoists,” West Midnapore superintendent of police Manoj Verma told IANS over telephone. The body had bullet injuries.
“The body was found beside a road in Binpur,” he said.
Maoist guerrillas are active in the three western districts of West Bengal - West Midnapore, Purulia and Bankura.
