New Delhi, Sep 4 (IANS) Three days after a 23-year-old BBA student’s chopped body was found on railway tracks here, police Tuesday questioned a woman, whom the victim secretly married, her family and said they would also interrogate some train drivers.

Parts of Paras Bhasin’s body were found scattered near railway tracks in east Delhi’s Pandav Nagar Saturday afternoon.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) student’s father Sanjeev Bhasin said: “My son left home around 3.30 p.m. on Saturday and around 4.15 p.m. we received a call about his death from an unknown caller.”

Police have, however, not disclosed conclusively if the death was due to an accident, suicide or murder.

Police registered a case of murder Monday against the family of Shelly, who secretly married Bhasin at an Arya Samaj temple in May against the wishes of her family, following the allegations of the victim’s family that he was murdered.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Kumar Jain told IANS that Shelly and her family members were being questioned but police were yet to confirm that Bhasin was killed or he committed suicide.

“As per the reports of Bhasin’s autopsy and the research of forensic team, he was not cut into several pieces. His body was crushed. It was the impact of the accident that his hand came off his body and the body was damaged badly. The body was not chopped and thrown near the tracks. His head was intact with the body,” said Jain.

Bhasin’s family alleged that the family of his wife, who stayed in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, had been allegedly threatening Bhasin for the past couple of days and killed him because the couple was from different castes and economic backgrounds.

“The girl’s father used to threaten Bhasin to end the relationship. He also used to call my father to warn Bhasin,” said Uday, the victim’s cousin.

Police said that the passerby, who informed the victim’s mother about his death, had been identified.

“The passerby saw the body and called up after removing a visiting card from the victim’s wallet. The police are not suspecting him to be behind the murder,” said Jain.

Police said they were planning to question the drivers of trains which crossed the Pandav Nagar area between 3.30 p.m. and 4.15 p.m. Saturday.
