Blueline bus mows down biker in Delhi
December 24th, 2008 - 8:33 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 24 (IANS) A 34-year-old man was mowed down by a speeding Blueline bus in south Delhi Wednesday. Subodh, who was from Bihar, was going to his work on a bike when he was hit by the bus, plying on route number 425 between Kalkaji and Old Delhi Railway Station.
“Subodh was on his bike when the bus hit him from behind on Ravidas Road in Govindpuri. He died on the spot,” said a police officer.
Bus driver Ramesh Chand was arrested, the officer said, adding that a case of rash and negligent driving was registered against him.
At least 114 people have lost their lives in road accidents involving Blueline buses this year. Last year, such buses killed 194 people.
