New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday accused the Congress of playing “dirty politics” in Uttar Pradesh by appeasing minorities ahead of assembly elections.
Attacking Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh for saying that the killing of terrorists at the Batla House here was a stage-managed affair, the BJP asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to respond.
“(The statement) is an insult to the martyrs,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said, referring to a police officer who died in the September 2008 operation.
Two alleged Indian Mujahideen members were killed when police stormed the Batala House.
