New Delhi, Aug 27 (IANS) Delhi Police Wednesday arrested Raghav Verma, an aide of notorious ‘bikers gang’ leader Om Prakash alias Bunty who was shot dead two days ago, officials said. Raghav, 32, used to stay in the same house as Bunty and gang member Rajesh, who was also killed by police Monday.

“Raghav Verma was arrested from south Delhi. He was staying with Bunty and Rajesh at the house in Badarpur till Aug 24,” said Delhi Police spokesman Rajat Bhagat.

Raghav used to work as a catering manager with Mittal Gardens in south Delhi and had apparently gone out for some work on Aug 24. But he also has a criminal past and had been in jail last year.

“He became friends with Bunty and Rajesh at Tihar jail in November last year,” the spokesman said.

The house where Bunty and Rajesh were killed reportedly belong to Dinesh Mittal, co-owner of Mittal Gardens. Mittal is already in jail for his brother-in-law Arun Gupta’s murder.

Bunty and Rajesh were on the run after three gang members were arrested July 31. Each carried a reward of Rs.50,000 on his head.

The biker gang first made news July 5 when its members gunned down property dealer Sonu, 25, outside his Sangam Vihar residence. That day, they also shot at a man and robbed his Pulsar bike in the same area.

The gang robbed the owner of a TV showroom in the Kalkaji area of south Delhi and some customers during daylight the next day. The same day they stole another motorbike from Defence Colony area of south Delhi at gunpoint.

After carrying out a series of robberies and murders in south Delhi, the gang robbed and beat up a motorcycle rider in Mayur Vihar area of east Delhi. They also robbed two shops in east Delhi.
