Patna, Dec 26 (IANS) The Bihar police Friday claimed to have solved the murder of a journalist, who was shot dead last month, by making an arrest in the case, officials said. Vikash Ranjan, reporter with Hindi daily Dainik Hindustan, was shot dead last month in Rosera town in Samastipur district, some 125 km from here.
The Samastipur police said Friday they have arrested Krishna Yadav, an alleged hired killer, for Ranjan’s murder and have seized from his possession some weapons and cellphones.
Police officials claimed that Yadav has confessed to them he killed Ranjan at the behest of Bablu Singh, a contractor.
Yadav told the the police that Singh had asked him to kill Ranjan as the journalist was writing about corruption in the contract business.
