Bihar MP gets Rs.50 lakh extortion demand
May 30th, 2011 - 9:00 pm ICT by IANSPatna, May 30 (IANS) A Bihar MP has alleged that an unidentified man demanded Rs.50 lakh from him and threatened to kill his son if he did not pay up, police said Monday.
The Janata Dal (United) MP Maheshwar Hazari has informed state police chief Neelmani and Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Alok Kumar about the extortion demand.
According to police, the MP got an SMS demanding the money and threatening to kill his son if the amount was not paid. Hazari is MP from Samastipur.
