Patna, April 23 (IANS) Eunuchs will be engaged to popularise and create awareness about government sponsored women and child welfare schemes in Bihar, an official said Wednesday. After successfully using the services of eunuchs to recover taxes from habitual defaulters in Patna, now the social welfare department plans to engage them to propagate its schemes.
“The plan is under consideration to engage eunuchs,” said Vijay Prakash, principal secretary in the social welfare department.
Eunuchs visit families on auspicious occasions across the state. “Their visits would be more fruitful if they can be engaged to propagate our schemes,” said Prakash.
