BHU professor found dead in campus home
July 19th, 2011 - 11:32 pm ICT by IANSVaranasi (Uttar Pradesh), July 19 (IANS) A professor of the prominent Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here was found dead in his official residence on the campus Tuesday, police said.
N. Prasad was associated with the department of metallurgical engineering of the BHU’s Institute of Technology.
“As of now, nothing can be said about the reason behind the death. The body has been sent for post-mortem that would reveal the exact cause of the death,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Vishal Pandey told reporters in Varanasi, some 300 km from Lucknow.
According to police, Prasad used to live alone at his residence. His family is in Mumbai.
BHU authorities Tuesday contacted the police after Prasad did not respond to phone calls or the door bell.
