Bhopal shopping mall bulldozed
May 8th, 2011 - 12:37 am ICT by IANSBhopal, May 7 (IANS) The Madhya Pradesh capital city’s mall, made famous by Bollywood director Prakash Jha’s “Aarakshan” which was shot there, has been reduced to rubble.
Under the biggest anti-encroachment drive in the capital city, authorities Saturday reduced to rubble the Minal Mall in Minal Residency area along with 200 other shops.
Rajnish Shrivastava, additional district magistrate, told reporters that the demolition has been carried out on the order of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The mall built by Raj Group 11 years ago covered nearly 146 acres of land.
Prakash Jha recently shot his film “Aarakshan” in the Minal Residency area.
Arun Sahlot, director of Raj Group, had told to shop onwers they would be provided alternative shops soon.
