June 23rd, 2011 - 6:47 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, June 23 (IANS) Refusing to comment on reports that the commission has ruled out sexual assault of women in the Bhatta-Parsaul village, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) officials Thursday said the report was “still in process”.
“The report on Bhatta Parsaul is still being finalised and is in process. It will be submitted in front of the full commission,” an NHRC official said.
Four people, including two policemen, were killed in an exchange of gunfire between farmers protesting against land acquisition and the police in Greater Noida’s Bhatta-Parsaul village in Uttar Pradesh last month.
Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi had alleged that the police sexually assaulted women in the village during the stir.
