Beckhams deny car crash

New York, Aug 26 (IANS) Former Spice girl Victoria Beckham and her husband David, an international footballer, have trashed reports that they had been involved in a car crash, insisting the incident never happened. The couple’s spokeswoman, Cheryl Maisel, has denied the crash ever happened, blaming online gossip for the false story, reports Hollywood.com.

“There was no car crash. David and Victoria Beckham were driving a car that had been scratched the day before when it had been left parked at the airport. They were not involved in any accident at all. There was no police, no crash, no paparazzi chase, etc., just very incorrect reports via Internet gossip sites,” said Maisel.

The pair was involved in a car crash Aug 22 on their way to Nice airport where David was to catch a plane to China to participate in the Olympics closing ceremony Sunday.

Beckham reportedly smashed the car laterally into a wall leaving his BMW with a smashed windscreen and extensive damage along the passenger side.

He was photographed embracing a tearful Victoria in the car and comforting her before he raced to the departure lounge with her father Tony Adams.
