Battered baby case: Two more arrested
February 8th, 2012 - 1:27 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 7 (IANS) Two more people have been arrested in the case of battered baby Falak, who is currently fighting for her life in a city hospital, police said Tuesday.
The two, identified as Rana and Rahul, were arrested by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell and brought before a court, which sent them to two days police custody.
Rana is the husband of Arti, 25, was arrested Feb 2 for forcing into prostitution the 14-year-old girl who brought Falak to hospital.
He and Rahul are also said to be involved in the prostitution racket.
Arti was an associate of another arrested woman Pooja, arrested last Wednesday
Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) who have been treating baby Falak for over two weeks said Tuesday there is a 30-40 percent chance that the child may remain in a vegetative state for the rest of her life.
She was admitted to AIIMS Jan 18 with a fractured skull, bruises and human bite marks all over her body. A teenager, claiming to be her mother, admitted her to the hospital.
