Bank unions to strike Friday
August 3rd, 2011 - 10:55 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Aug 3 (IANS) Around 10 lakh state-run, private sector and foreign bank employees will go on strike Friday to protest against disinvestment by the government in public sector banks, unions said Wednesday.
The strike will also be against mergers and acquisitions and outsourcing of routine activities in addition to other demands.
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) decided to go ahead with the strike after its talks with the Indian Banks Association failed Wednesday.
