Bangladeshi, accomplice arrested for killing elderly woman

New Delhi, July 16 (IANS) A Bangladeshi domestic help and his Indian accomplice were arrested Wednesday on charges of killing an elderly woman in south Delhi, the police said. Acting on a tip off, Bangladeshi Badal Firoji, 24, and Sanjay, 22, were taken into custody for stabbing to death 71-year-old Nirmala Madan in Amar Colony May 5.

Firoji, who worked as a telephone operator as well as a domestic help at Madan’s house, fled to Bangladesh after the incident.

The police traced his relatives staying in Seemapuri in east Delhi.

He entered India again July 13 with proper documents from Haridaspur border in North 24 Parganas in West Bangal. Firoji was arrested when he reached Seemapuri to meet his relatives.

On the strength of his statement, Sanjay was arrested from Garhi area in south Delhi. The knife used in the crime has been seized.
