Kolkata, July 7 (IANS) Restrictions on movement of passenger trains at night in Maoist-affected areas of West Bengal, Orissa and Jharkhand will continue till July 14, a railway statement said here Thursday.

“In view of security reasons, running of passenger trains on Kharagpur-Adra, Chakradharpur-Rourkela and Kharagpur-Tata sections will continue to be suspended from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.,” the South Eastern Railway said.

Accordingly, some trains have been diverted and re-scheduled, it said.

The railway had been restricting the movement of trains after the Gyaneshwari Express sabotage in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district May 2010 in which 148 people were killed.
