Ayonika misses women’s air rifle medal at CYG Pune

- Pune, Oct 13 (IANS) India’s Ayonika Paul finished fourth, narrowly missing bronze in the Women’s 10m air rifle event which was won by Singapore’s Aqilah Sudhir Binte on the first day of the 3rd Commonwealth Youth Games here Monday.Sudhir Binte won gold with a score of 501.0, while Canada’s Minica Fyfe (496.1) took the silver. The bronze went to Hali Nur Ayuni of Malaysia (492.2).
Ayonika shot a score of 391 out of 400 with a series of 97, 98, 98 and 98 in the qualification round to qualify for the finals on the fourth place. Her score of 100.7 took her final tally to 491.7, leaving her just 0.5 points behind the bronze medal winner.
