Auto-lifter arrested in Delhi after brief shoot-out
March 3rd, 2009 - 11:08 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 3 (IANS) Delhi Police Tuesday arrested an auto-lifter after a brief shoot-out at Saket in south Delhi area.
However, two of his accomplices fled under the cover of darkness.
Sunil, 30, was wanted in several cases of auto lifting in the capital.
He fired at a police team which was chasing him and they retaliated.
“We also fired and get hold of one accused whereas the other two escaped from the spot taking benefit of darkness,” Deputy Commissioner of Police H.G.S. Dhaliwal said.
Police recovered a country made pistol along with cartridges, a Pajero car, a Santro car, and 300 duplicate keys, among other things, from Sunil’s possession.
