Australian to leave India for visa breach
August 30th, 2011 - 4:42 pm ICT by IANSShimla, Aug 30 (IANS) An Australian man staying in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district has been told to leave India within two weeks for violating visa rules, police said Tuesday.
Roderick John Andrew Mackenzie, who is in India on a business visa, was directed Monday to leave within 14 days, Kullu’s Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dular told IANS over telephone.
He said Mackenzie, who claimed he was associated with heli-skiing company Himalayan Heli Ski Adventure Pvt Ltd, failed to prove his position with the firm.
“He even failed to provide papers related to his business association with the company. The notice to leave the country has been given as he is working as a consultant and not doing any business,” Dular added.
Manjeev Bhalla, the company’s managing director, told IANS that Mackenzie has been working with the company as a consultant on an honorary basis for many years.
