Sydney, Aug 28 (DPA) A Melbourne brothel-keeper who in 2006 became the first person in Australia convicted of possessing sex slaves Thursday lost her appeal against her 10-year jail sentence.Wei Tang enslaved five Thai women and forced them to service up to 100 clients a day.

Tang, an Australian citizen, was found guilty under anti-slavery laws introduced in 1999.

The Thai women were not kept against their will but were effectively enslaved because of their limited English and their fear of deportation if found by immigration authorities.

Their visas had been obtained illegally and their passports were in the keeping of Tang.
