Astrologer held for molesting woman
February 17th, 2012 - 7:42 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Feb 17 (IANS) An astrologer was arrested on charges of molestation following a complaint of a woman, who had gone to him on the promise that he would be able to make her son walk, police here said Friday.
“The person who practices astrology was arrested after we received a complaint from a woman who alleged that he attempted to molest her. It is a bailable offence and we have forwarded him to a court,” Deputy Commissioner (South-West) Subrata Mitra said.
The woman, in her 30s, met the astrologer for the first time in January. He assured her that he could make the child walk and asked her to come later. On Feb 7, she went to his office in Chittaranjan Avenue where the alleged molestation took place.
