December 2nd, 2011 - 11:18 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Dec 2 (IANS) Two students of a government-run polytechnic shot dead a B.Tech student in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district Friday, police said.
Gunjan Tiwari, 20, a B.Tech third year student of Ambedakar Institute of Technology, was shot dead by Rakjikya Polytechnic students Nitin Kumar and Mukund Chaudhary, both aged 20 years.
“Gunjan was shot dead near his hostel outside the Ambedkar Institute,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Lal told reporters in Kanpur, some 80 km from Lucknow.
“Though we are yet to ascertain the motive behind the killing, it appears a love affair could be the reason behind the murder. Efforts are on to trace the two students,” he added.
