Arrest warrants issued against Nirmal Baba
May 19th, 2012 - 5:54 pm ICT by IANSPatna, May 19 (IANS) A Bihar court Saturday issued arrest warrants against self-styled godman Nirmal Baba in connection with a case of cheating and fraud filed by one of his disciples, officials said.
The warrants were issued by the chief judicial magistrate in Araria district, court officials said.
The court earlier this week rejected an anticipatory bail plea filed by the baba.
A case of cheating and fraud was registered last month in Forbesganj police station of Araria district by Rakesh Kumar.
The complainant alleged that Nirmal Baba promised him good fortune through miracle. But even after paying him ‘dasvand’ (tenth share of income as tithe) thrice, he had not benefited.
