Army lost 313 men since 2009, says Antony
March 16th, 2011 - 7:54 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 16 (IANS) The Indian Army has lost 313 men since 2009 in operations across the country, Defence Minister A.K. Antony told the Rajya Sabha Wednesday.
Replying to written questions from members, Antony said the army lost 114 men in 2009, 187 men in 2010 and 12 in 2011 till March 8.
From Rajasthan, eight personnel were killed in 2009 and 15 in 2010. All these casualties were reported from Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The navy lost one of its personnel during operations in 2009, but saw no casualties in 2010. The air force saw no casualties at all in the last two years, he added.
