Arms smuggler held in Uttar Pradesh
September 10th, 2011 - 4:58 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Sep 10 (IANS) An inter-state arms smuggler was arrested after a brief shootout with police in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district Saturday with 10 pistols.
Police said Aftab alias Guddu (30) was nabbed in Tundla in a joint operation carried out by the local police and government railway police.
“Aftab worked for a Bihar-based racket involving the supply of illegal firearms to various states, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand,” inspector Ram Singh said in Firozabad, 350 km from Lucknow.
