Armed robbers loot jewellery shop in Delhi

New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) Three unidentified men opened fire in a well-known jewellery shop in northwest Delhi before decamping with gold and diamond jewellery worth million of rupees late Tuesday, the police said. The incident occurred in Sector-7 of Rohini when three men entered a jewellery shop “Rohini Jewellers” and asked the sales executives to show them diamond and golden articles of high value.

The robbers seized the jewellery and when the three employees protested, the men opened fire in the air and threatened to kill them.

The police said the robbers then fled.

“The police said they were verifying the cost of articles looted from the shop. A case has been registered and teams have fanned out to arrest the robbers,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sagar Preet Hooda.
