Apex court notice on 1993 bombing convicts
July 26th, 2010 - 2:08 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 26 (IANS) The Supreme Court Monday issued notice on appeals by the Maharashtra government seeking enhanced punishment for those convicted for their involvement in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.
The court declined to entertain any plea for interim relief by the accused who are serving jail term.
The final hearing will be held from Jan 11, 2011 till its conclusion, the bench of Justices P. Sathasivam and B.S. Chauhan said.
Up to 250 people were killed and more than 700 injured in a series of 13 blasts that rocked Mumbai on March 12, 1993.
