Apex court judges declare assets
November 2nd, 2009 - 8:41 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) Bowing to popular demand and complying with a Delhi High Court ruling, the Supreme Court judges led by Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan Monday declared their assets.
Justice B.N. Agrawal, who retired from the apex court on Oct 15 this year, too joined the 21 sitting apex court judges in declaring their assets.
The judges’ assets were posted on the apex court’s official website www.supremecourtofindia.nic.in Monday evening.
Though the declaration followed a Delhi High Court ruling of September, the apex court website said the declaration by the judges had been made on voluntarily basis.
About Justice Agrawal’s decision to declare his assets, the apex court said the details of his assets have been “uploaded on the website on his special request”.
