Anti-Maoist operations on in Jharkhand: CRPF
January 21st, 2010 - 3:20 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 21 (IANS) Anti-Maoist operations in Jharkhand have not halted, Vijay Raman, the special director general of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), said Thursday.
“Newspapers may report anything. As far as we are concerned, we have not ceased any of our operations anywhere,” Raman told IANS over telephone from the Chhattisgarh capital Raipur where he is based.
Raman is the national coordinator of anti-Maoist offensive across the country.
According to media reports, Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren has halted operations against Maoist guerrillas, including long-range patrols.
