Anti-Maoist force personnel commits suicide
March 7th, 2010 - 10:48 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, March 7 (IANS) A security personnel of Jaguar force, constituted to fight Maoists, committed suicide by shooting himself in Khunti district of Jharkhand Sunday morning, police said.
Manish Chandra Pandey, 25, posted in Maoist-infested Rania block of the district, shot himself in the neck and died on the spot, police said.
His body has been sent for post-mortem, it added.
“The exact reason of suicide is not known. It seems Manish was under stress, which prompted him to commit suicide by shooting himself. Investigation will reveal the exact cause of the suicide,” a police official told IANS from Khunti district.
The personnel, a resident of Chainpur block of Palamau district, was provided special training to fight Maoist guerrillas.
